Welcome to the New Lanark On-line Shop incorporating Yarnwarehouse.com

We specialise in producing high quality woollen yarn suitable for machine and hand-knitting. From this website you can buy knitting wool produced entirely by traditional methods in one of the historic mills.

The small-scale batch production and traditional methods that we use to produce our high quality yarn may result in stock reserves of a particular colour running low from time to time. If a colour from our one of our ranges is not available we will put a message beside the item description, and where appropriate we will suggest an alternative colour option, which may suit your needs.

New Lanark was the first wool spinning production unit in Scotland to achieve the Soil Association's organic approval.

We produce and sell Aran and Double Knitting wool. Aran is a 3-ply yarn suitable for knitting cosy cardigans and sweaters. Double Knitting is a 2-ply yarn that is more lightweight than Aran. Both types are superb for hand-knitting.

Our Aran and Double Knitting yarn come in three ranges:

Donegal Silk Tweed - This range consists of 90% wool and 10% silk for a touch of added luxury.

Heather Mixtures - Our 100% wool Heather Mixtures reflect all the stunning colours of the Scottish countryside.

Natural Blend - Our 100% Natural Blend range is totally natural, and made from blending Merino and Zwarble undyed wool. Different quanities and variations of the undyed wool are mixed together to produce a wonderful range of pure, unprocessed yarn.

Measurements -
